HABIT:  Fast growing tropical shrub that works like an annual for us. Flowers are insignificant. Colorful foliage all summer. Dies at frost Native to the Pacific Islands.

CULTURE:  Best in full sun, prepared beds, good drainage and ample water and fertilizer.

USES:  Background for other bedding plants.

PROBLEMS:    Extensive root system often competes with other bedding plants.
