MAGNOLIA, BAY

Sweet Bay Magnolia (Magnolia virginiana)  deciduous to semi-evergreen tree to 40 feet, fragrant white flowers, leaves white beneath and beautiful when the wind blows them. Fruits are attractive crimson cones. Likes moist soil.  Also called sweet bay, swamp bay, and swamp magnolia.
