                                          What is Organic Gardening?

There are many terms fling around these days; Green, Organic, Sustainable, Eco-Friendly, etc.  There is only one that makes sense and there are still many critics of the term.

Through the years I have held firm on the use of the term “organic” with the exception of adding the word “natural” to it in some cases.  Natural organic is a better explanation of the program in some cases plus it helps avoid the legal issues of the “certified organic” definition.

Regardless of the term used the organic program is no longer is no longer complicated.  It actually becomes simpler every year as we work together to learn more.  The current definition organic is 3 simple points.

 1.  Omission of toxic pesticides

 2.  Omission of synthetic fertilizers.

  3.  Using techniques and products that build and maintain soil life.
