I do recommend and use root stimulators - but not the kind normally recommended and sold. The common high-phosphorous synthetic liquid products are harsh and should not be used. What I use is compost tea or the entire Garrett Juice formula. They feed the soil and allow the healthy soil to feed the plant roots. Use a little at planting and add a little more if the plants need a little push.
