Skunk and other foul smells - mix 1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide, ½ cup baking soda, 1 teaspoon liquid soap. Rub into fur and rinse with tap water. Do not store this mix! It will explode. Spray citrus oil and/or hot garlic-pepper tea to repel the animals.

What seems to work pretty well for opossums, armadillos, skunks and other beasts is highly fragrant materials like mustard powder, hot pepper, and finely ground tobacco.
