HABIT:  Trunks and branches resemble crape myrtle. Small leaves, insignificant fall color. Slow growing. Small leathery leaves. 1 inch fruit turns black in fall.

CULTURE:        Easy to grow in most soils, drought tolerant. Can grow easily in rocky areas.

USES:              Ornamental garden tree, decorative bark.

PROBLEMS:     Few if any.

NOTES:            Native to South and Central Texas.
