Ok, think I found what these bugs are...springtails...
The pictures I've found on the net don't look exactly the same, but the descriptions I've read about behavior, location, ect match perfectly...
Any kind of pest control for these things? We find them on the side of the house, under the door mat, ect...
Sounds like they don't really do any damage, just their presence is annoying. |

| These are very beneficial. They break down compost and fallen leaves. Geckos eat them. If you must get rid of them, you can spray with a cirtus product to kill them on contact. Watch for geckos before spraying so you do not hurt them. |

| I asked an exterminator online about these when we moved into our house. It was brand new and we had these (dead) in light fixtures and in corners (like a mass suicide). He said they were attracted to moisture and were stirred up with the construction, and that it was good they were dead. If they were still alive, they were there because of moisture and that wouldn't be a good thing inside. We used to have them under the doormats after rain. |
