| I just buy the varieties available at a local feed and seed store. I think that most onions will grow and "bulb" with the right growing conditions and temperatures. In this area, I plant onions in January or Feb, and usually harvest in June. |

| I agree. Timing is everything with onions. I planted onions 3 times this past year. The only ones that turned out large were planted in early February. March for me was too late and the tops dried out before they grew much and last fall onions went to flower too soon and didn't turn out very big either. |
