What can I do about these small metallic green bugs? They are eating our
butterfly bush at a very rapid pace. There must be hundreds of the little
monsters. |

Sounds like flea beetles. They look black, but in the sun do have a dark green metallic look to them. Check out the link below and see if that's what it looks like.

| One more thing..since the flea beetle larva are in the soil, beneficial nematodes would help control the next generation from emerging. |

| Are you sure they are not japanese beetles? They have few predators so I just hand pick them (with gloves) and toss them in a bucket of soapy water. I might be crazy but to me this is fun :lol: |
