:?: I received a tip that perhaps the addition of chelated iron to the 20% vinegar/orange oil/soap mix might serve to extend the herbicidal effect farther down into the roots. Is there any basis to that claim?

We're dealing with some nasty noxious weeds here in Colorado with 30 deep root systems, like leafy spurge!

Thanks for any guidance.

Karen,

Have you tried mixing chelated iron with vinegar yet? I would think that it would break the bonds of the chelated iron and possibly settle out. I have no idea if it would, but before you do a whole tank mix try watching it in a bottle over a two hour time period. I am interested in why that would work. I have used magnessium sulfate in vinegar before and I think it gives a slight improvement. I think the most important part of the vinegar working is good coverage with a good surfactant and a warm, sunny day.
