| Does anyone have any experience/advice on getting peach and cherry pits to sprout? It would seem simple, just stick 'em in the soil, but I haven't had one come up yet. Would appreciate help. |

Gasman-
Peach and cherry trees are native to TX or LA so if they do sprout you are in for a long-term maintenance program. I like peaches so much I have 10 trees and put up with the maintenance. If you are planting something like ox hart cherry seeds you won't get fruit even if it does sprout. Certain trees need different growing conditions. As an example, many people are familiar with Bartlett pears. But they can't set fruit here in the south because they need a minimum number of chilling days below a certain temperature. We don't ever get that many. Also, seeds do not necessarily give you the same exact fruit at the parent.
