Stewart Creek provides natural habitat. HOA, developer & landscaper have already mowed down the grass meadow adjacent to the creek which is full of reeds, etc.
What grasses, native flowers could be planted in the meadow along the creek requiring little or no upkeep , but would be beautiful?
What laws are in place that will protect HOA etc from destroying this creek?

Welcome. You have posed a tricky question. If the land area you are talking about is owned by the Home Owners Association, you will have to check with the bylaws of that group to find what restrictions are in place regarding, what I assume is, a commons area within your neighborhood.
If this area is designated as a wetland area by the HOA, then I would suggest that you get in touch with Ducks Unlimited to see if they can offer any suggestions for turning this area into a wetland habitat. This international organization has a wealth of knowledge and years of experience protecting and restoring wetlands. |
