I don't know how else to word it, I have a bench beneath the crape myrtle and it feels like it's raining on me when I sit under it. There is a milky white cast to some of the the leaves too. What is it and how do I fix it?

I noticed the same thing and then I say that 2 of them are COVERED in what I think are aphids. I have heard Howard say that dripping is from Aphids. They are white and scaley looking. They are on the bottom of leaves and on the branch forks as well. I sprayed them with Neem oil and I hope that helps.

wait wait..
not all this 'rain' is aphid related.
Crepes have a tendency to do a great deal of sweating in the warmer season.
It's called transpiration and is normal. If your crepe is not ‘sweating’.. I'd check the label! :)

If you feel it is in fact aphids you'll be able to find the lil guys simply by checking foliage and branching. If you see tons of lil bugs your Crepe will need more than a good antiperspirant!

Well, I had the same thing going on, I thought it was aphids, until I noticed on one of the crepe myrtles there were no aphids. After watching the tree for a while, I saw where the drops were coming from, and I finally realized it was a dark insect about 3/8" long, and it was squirting a liquid into the air. If I moved the tree it flew off, so I never got a look at it, but I sure would like to know what it was!
