I feel that using a sprinkler that puts water out in larger drops is more efficient than ones that put out a finer mist. Has anyone noted the same?
I had a sprinkler called the "Big Drip" a few years ago that put out drops instead of a mist. I was manufactured in Herford TX. I can not find it any where. I am interested if knows of that device or a similar one.

Each drop is subject to evaporation over every square inch of its surface. Smaller drops have more square inches per volume of water and thus are lost more to evaporation. So you are right to question the effeciency of small drops. Plus mist seem to blow away while heavy drops go where they belong (to the grass).

I use an impact style sprinkler.
