hi all. I am new to the board, far from new in the dirt.

I am just learning more about organics in TX (yeah I am a transplant)
I have hords of geckos and adore them. I also have/ had a recurring flea issue. I want to use DE (diatomaceous earth) to treat it.. but fear for my soft bellied sweeties.
Has anyone had experience with .. or know the possible results of using DE where geckos are plentiful?

I've used DE all around the house for mosquitos. (As dry and cracked
as the yard is I still don't know where they come from.)
We have Geckos galore inside and out. Other than saving them from
the cats, the DE doesn't seem to hurt them.

DE for fleas outside? I never did have any success with that. Get some beneficial nematodes and get them in the soil and you can use a product called Bioganic that has no effect on geckos or anything else but will kill the fleas & other insects. That will stop the problem quickly and allow the nematodes to get busy and take out the flea larvae in the soil. Inside I've had great results with a d-limonene & water spray. It doesn't hurt the carpet or floors and kills the fleas and the larvae in the carpet. And vacuum the heck out of your house for a week or two. That really gets 'em. Sprinkle some DE on to the carpet to get in to your vacuum to start so it will kill the fleas you suck up. Good luck and hope you get them under control...fleas are miserable for everyone!
