I have a very large fig tree that is producing heavily, but ever since that spell of very wet weather we had a couple of weeks ago, the figs have been splitting open and attracting lots of bugs. Recently, I have noticed a huge infestation of large green/iridescent beetles all over the figs. There are so many that I can't even get out there to pick the figs that are ready (which makes it worse because then they get too ripe and attrack more bugs).

Last night I tried to knock these beetles off with a stick so I could pick the figs, but there were so many I kept getting dived bombed by them and finally had to go into the house.

Is there anything I can spray on the tree that is organic to try to eliminate some of these beetles so I can salvage what figs are left on the tree? Thanks for any help with this problem. :?:

Probably the green june beetle. Try a mix of neen oil and natural DE spray. See the additional information in the Texas Bug Book.
