Anytime after a couple of hard frosts. Look for the buds starting to swell in the spring, that's a sign that you're too late. If you have container grown trees you can plant them anytime.

20 years ago is the best time to plant a tree.
If that doesn't work out for you, then plant one now. Fall is a great time to plant. |
