How long till DE works?

I started feeding my cat DE in her food last Saturday, August 30. How long is it supposed to be before the fleas disappear? As of right now, I think she still has some. Also, am I using the right amount? She eats about 3/4c of food a day so I put about 1/2 teaspoon of DE on her food. By my calculations, this is about 1%-2%. Should I be using more? Is there a danger if you use too much?

DE fed to animals won't eliminate fleas if that's all you are doing. It s an important part of the diet and the increased health will help the animal resist fleas and other pests but the rest of the program is necessary. It's all covered on the web site. See the information center.
