corn gluten meal versus Horticultural corn meal?

What's the difference? :?:
I tilled up and resodded my lawn (St. Augustine) this past spring and it's looking great.
I lost a lawn a few years ago and want to do everything possible to prevent that from happening again.
I am just now starting the organic approach, although I did till in humus, gypsum, peat moss, and mulch before sodding.I have the red, hard clay. Also put down earthworm castings under some of the sod and over the rest, (this because I sodded over several weeks as money allowed).
Today, I bought some Texas greensand, lava sand, horticultural cornmeal, and earthworm castings and am wondering exactly how and when to apply. Can you over do it?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Corn Gluten meal is a natural pre-emergent and organic fertilizer. Cornmeal is a soil additive and disease fighter. Go to D Hall's announcement at the top of the lawn care section. FAQ's. It is loaded with the information you need.

I still don't know whether I should put all of this down at once. It's raining lightly right now and I was going to do this today if it quits. Should I wait until it's dry, and if not, then do I still need to water in the corn meal since the grass will still be wet?

If you could mix it up and put it all down at one time, that would be fine. Any interactions are positive. It might not be practical to do that, but it should be no problem.

The reason you water organic materials after applying is to put them in direct contact with the soil microbes. Then you can go back to your normal watering routine.

I have a Scotts speedygreen spreader, so no problem mixing and putting down at one time. I assume mixing will help with the earthworm castings since that doesn't spread too well by itself?

Should I wait since it's rained all day?

If the grass is wet, the stuff will tend to stick to the blades and not fall in. If you go ahead and do it today, which would be fine, just wash it off the grass blades with the hose sprayer.
