| I have several large thornless honey locust trees in my yard and have always had trouble with them coming up off the roots, what can I use on them after cutting them off that will not affect the large trees but will kill out the shoots, I would like to kill the large trees but they are all I have. |

How long will you be in the house? You might consider starting over with a tree you like if you will be there to watch it mature.
A better place to ask this question might be in the Trees forum. |

| I understand where you are coming from but honestly these trees do have some advantages, I live in Hondo and through a tornado which went just overhead and softball sized hailstones these trees have sustained less damage than my neighbor's more conventional yard trees. Due to the tees ability to bend and unusual leaves they just have less wind damage. I did post the question in the tree board also. |
