We have lots of Carolina Buckthorn growing wild on our property, and two of them that are near my perennial bed just died within two weeks. They started looking wilty, then the leaves turned brown. None of the others on our place have died, and I haven't seen evidence of any pests. No other species of plant has died either. Any ideas? This is just so unusual, and I'm at a loss for what caused this. Each plant was around five feet tall and several years old, and have always looked healthy.
Thanks for any suggestions or info.

Check the trunk down near the base and make sure something like a rabbit or mouse hasn’t been eating the bark.

Ooh, I didn't think of that and we have had lots more rabbits here than usual. I'll check and let you know.
Thanks for the suggestion
