I have a beautiful miniature gardenia that is about 15 years old. It's always bloomed twice a year. I've never done much for it except some garrett juice and some iron when it gets a bit yellow. I decided a couple of weeks ago that I would put in some cotton burr compost and then mulch it with native cedar. Now it's got brown leaves and looks like it might be dying! I don't think I could have damaged the roots working in the compost - I just scratched it in. Anybody got ideas or suggestions? I hate to lose this plant - it looks like a bridal bouquet when it blooms. Please help!

If the compost wasn't completely broken down you could have gotten hold of some tainted with herbicide. I had that happen to me. Try a drench of Garrett Juice on the soil with a cup or two of cornmeal. I saved a few plants that way. Hope you keep your pretty little plant!
