Hi Ya'll
I discovered some brown/black bodied catepillars with white fuzz and reddish heads hatching out & stripping our Pecan tree. I shot Ammonia/Vinegar/dishwashing soap on them to no avail.
Any suggestions? They quit eating, but they didn't die.
Thanks
KW

Get some Bt Kurstaki product like Thuricide by Bonide and spray it on the treeASAP. It's a beneficial bacteria that the caterpillars will ingest and it causes them to stop eating and die. Put it on in the evening as UV rays kill it. Adding a little molasses will do some good too. Hope this message found you in time!

And from now on be sure you protect all the wasps you find in your neighborhood. Paper wasps eat caterpillars.
