| Is it safe to add pencil shavings to the compost pile? My kids go through pencils like crazy and I wonder if the material is compostable? |

| I am 99.9% sure that pencil 'lead' is all graphite these days, graphite ==Carbon==lunch for the microbes... can't see the harm in it. |
