|
|
| Does anyone know for certian if the shaving left after a red oak tree stump is ground down is fit to put into a garden or the compost pile? I have a neighbor who has a few that have been ground down but his son didnt think it was good for a garden for some reason(too acidic or something like that). I am planning on getting my garden ready for the winter this weekend and am considering putting these shaving in some of my beds to help with drainage and as a soil builder. |

| If you leave it in the garden area, I would just use it as mulch. You could compost it, though, if you add a good amount of nitrogen products to break it down well. |
