|
|
I'm getting my front yard sodded with St. Augustine on Friday. I have killed off all the bermuda and grass burrs. They are going to cut the old dead grass out and then lay the St. Aug. I am not expecting them to do any soil amendments before laying the St. Aug.
What can I run out and purchase that they can easily put out before they lay the grass? I don't want to spend too much on this. Meaning, I'm not going to buy as many bags of humate that would be needed to cover this area. |

Here are some ideas:
- spray with liquid molasses
- spread compost as thick as you can afford up to 1"
- green sand and lava sand mixture
Do as much of the above as possible/affordable.
Wells Bros farm store in Plano sells bags of blended compost, green and lava sand.

| For the greensand and lava go up to 40 pounds per 1,000 square feet - again, what you can afford. |
