 we have moved into a new area, no landscaping at this time, I have a 1 acre yard, all johnson grass, I want to get rid of it and plant buffalo or some other all sun grass for a yard. Would like something easy with little watering and low maintence, like a low thick ground cover. Johnson County, black soil/clay mix. We will some day plant trees and bushes but for now we need grass for the grandkids to play on.

EThompson,
I was going to plant buffalo grass as well but was told it takes up to 3 years for the lawn to establish. So I elected to go with bermuda. Yes it is not the best grass, but I wanted a fast lawn. With all the rain we received, 5+ inches, the grass is greening up real nice.
