| I had trouble transitioning my cats to Muenster cat food. Let me know if you have any problems. Also feed them in stainless steel bowls (cheap at Tuesday Morning) and give them distilled water. |

My cats will not eat Muenster Cat food (they are both females-fixed). I have tried for 4 months now. If you do a smell test, the Muenster smells like card board. I don't blame the cats for not eating it! When I mix it with other cat food, the cats spit out the Muenster on the floor & eat the other. Another great cat food to try is "Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul". It has excellent ingredients. I buy mine at Willow Park Feed - great store for everything organic that you may need.

Yeah one of my cats went on a hunger strike when I switched too quick. One of the reasons cat and dog foods have such a strong smell is that they pour restaurant grease onto the food to make it as palitable as possible. The more your animal eats, especially if your animals pick theirs, the more money you spend.
With my dogs it was easy but the cats needed to be weaned off their previous food slowly. By the way, I don't blame them either. If I didn't care about my diet, which would I choose, Snickers or broccoli? I think the Muenster works very well for fat cats because you can free feed and they don't pig out as much. |

| I should also mention that not only did my cats go on a hunger strike with the Muenster (they got skinny), they also decided to go after any bird, lizard or other living thing. They would jump on the kitchen counter and steal food, tear open the bread wrapper etc., etc. They have never been picky eaters but Muenster they would not eat. I still think Muenster is great food ingredient wise, but nutty cats terrorizing the house & yard is no fun. |

I just started my cat on the Muenster food today and she loved it! She was eating it out of my hand. Of course, I did put some in with her other food, but will probably switch to the Muenster food totally when it's time to buy more. BTW, she's a 6 year old spayed female. She's not terribly finickey either.

| Muenster has a new formula cat food that my cats love. I posted earlier about my problems with the previous formula. I will be switching totally to Muenster now since I like the ingredients and the totally natural preservatives (the cats said it was OK). |

You may want to try the Whole Foods dry 365 Brand... http://www.wholefoods.com/products/365/pet_cat-dry.html
Our cats love it -- as well as the wet variety for a treat! It's very similar to Muenster, w/ a Corn, chicken meal and CGM protein base, no artificial preservatives, and is cheaper too. |
