My 6 mo old puppy has just taken a liking to our blooming tulips. She has pulled the flower off the stem and dropped it at the ground. She didn't eat the flowers, but only pulled them off the stem. We are about to plant more annuals/perinneals as well as a vegetable garden. How do I keep her out of the flowers and plants without harming either her or the plants?

Kris,
Good luck! Welcome to puppy love...almost!
Check with your vet for the bad news plants.
Is this your first puppy? Most out grow the habit but you must be firm with the pup to gain control. They are mostly bored and are teething. Go to the farm and ranch store or a pet store and buy some "hoofs" for the pup to chew on. My pup likes to chew on my wooded porch rocker rails. I put Tobassco sauce on it...no more chewing there and left the whole rocker alone.

My pup is now 9 mo old and almost have all my plants back.

Make a pepper tea. Blend the hottest pepper you can find ( habanero ) with water. let soak for about an hour, and strain the solids off. Spray this around your garden. Also works for some insects.
