My rosemary plant is about 3 years old. It has started dying from the inside of the plant. Most of the inside branches are gone. The just start turning brown.
Any help to prevent it from going further? :(

Quickly, right now, today...
1) Mix Baking soda with water at the rate of 1 tablespoon of baking soda to 1 gallon of water, spray your plant all over with a light mist.
2)Mix 2 cups of cornmeal with a gallon of warm water and let it sit for about an hour. Shake it up well, pull back the mulch from around yoru rosemary, and water it with the mix
OR
If your soil is saturated, spread about 2 cups of cornmeal on the bare soil at the base of your plant, work it in with a rake or your hands, and water it in just enough to soak the cornmeal.
Rosemary dies quickly when it is hit by this condition so there is no time to waste. I think it is blight, but not positive. I KNOW that this remedy has worked on several rosemary plants in the past unless they are in pots. The potted ones can't seem to stop it.

Hi,
I certainly agree with the other posted reply, but would like to add a thing or two. Sometimes rosemary, lavender, or sage just poops out after a few years. If you try the treatment mentioned--and I sure would--and it still dies, I would make another suggestion to help next time. Be very sure that the soil you plant rosemary in drains very well. Rosemary cannot stand wet feet. If the soil doesn't drain well, you can plant in a raised bed with plenty of finished compost. You are not looking for a really rich compost here. Rosemary doesn't need a lot of extra fertilizer. You just want to make the soil loose so it drains better. Hope this helps; rosemary is my favorite plant.--Melody |

| Assuming you haven't been watering it too much, it's possible it might be spider mites. Have you inspected it up close to see if you see any webbing? I would douse it with DE. |
