Looking to replace the Snapper because it just won't do the job on Tif. Grew up cutting Sunturf with a powered reel. I know the reel will do the best job at a low cut, but how do you handle the clippings?
Mow 2-3 times a week and leave them on the ground? Catch and put in a compost pile that I I'm not sure I have a place for?
Have some neighbors with Honda's that look pretty good at 2". Any suggestions???? |

If you have so many clippings that they clump up, then you need to sweep them back down into the turf. Otherwise just let them sit there and decompose. The do not contribute to thatch.
The Tiff will give you the best overall performance at mowing heights under one inch. Tall bermuda might look nice from the side but look down on it and walk barefoot in it and you will not be so impressed. Very low mowing heights contribute to density and to a soft feel underfoot. |
