Has anyone used both Orange TKO and GreenSense's citrus oil? If so, do they perform comperably as cleaners? The little bit I've used the Greensense product as a kitchen/bathroom surface cleaner (a bit stronger than "general" mix ratio) leaves me a little wanting. Instructions for mixing ratios are identical to a "t". The GreenSense product is less than half the cost, but if TKO is objectively more effective then I might consider switching.

Anyone?

I've always used TKO. The last time I was at marshall Grain, I bought a gallon of GS. The check out person suggested that I NOT use it for cleaning windows and mirrors. He said it would streak. So, I've stuck with TKO inside, and GS outside!

Orange TKO is a d-limonene product that has had the oils taken from it. If I am correct, Greensense orange still has the natural oil and hence the streaking problem. I use TKO for cleaning and orange oil outside because of that very reason.

Thr GreenSense product is labeled as "100% d-limonene," but labels can mislead sometimes--so Kathe still could be right about the ~5% other organic compounds. The versions of that product that I've seen didn't have either the aroma or the appearance of a full spectrum citrus oil extract, but it could contain some of the fractions besides d-limonene. The difference in behavior likely is that the GS product does not contain emulsifiers (at least it didn't the last time I looked), and the unemulsified d-limonene fraction essentially is insoluble in water. When added to water in an unemulsified state, it forms a separate organic layer on the water surface. That insolubility separation state makes it difficult to apply an even d-limonene/water mixture and it makes it difficult to remove any d-limonene that is applied to a surface (the unemulsified mixture doesn't have much self-rinsing character). In contrast, TKO contains a significant amount of emulsifier(s), which one would guess is/are of a synthetic nature. GS is hard to beat for pure d-limonene power/content (the way most of us would use it usually requires adding something to emulsify it--coconut oil, soap, detergent, etc.), and TKO is a fine cleaner.
