Hi!

A friend has a whole trash can full of cattle feed that must have gotten wet and has since molded. Can I throw this in my compost pile? The stuff is pretty hairy! Right now, I just have grasses and weeds and urine in there. Thanks!

Smiles,
Eric in Kerrville, TX

That stuff is dangerous! Bring it down to me in SA and I'll dispose of it properly :D :D :D

You could use it directly as a fertilizer at 10-20 pounds per 1,000 square feet or compost it.

Dave,
Do you have a decontamination chamber down there in San Antonio? If not, I'll have GuitarGerber send it to me and I'll run it through mine. This is some very dangerous material he has and must first be decontaminated. What ever is left over, when the process is complete, I'll mail to you.

I use all kinds of free or cheap, low-salt, pelletized or grain seed, cattle and horse feeds all the time!

I use most directly on my garden beds or my lawn as a protein fertilizer and soil amendment.

I use a great deal of it also in my aerated compost tea brews.
