We have a problem with doves trying to nest "everywhere" under our covered patio! They have started nests in a ceiling fan, hanging candle, on a wall shelf. We've tried small windmills and flags to catch the breeze and provide movement....without success! They return! Any suggestions to deter their efforts???

are you sure they are not swallows? the only thing you can do is to keep tearing the nest down before they lay their eggs and try to get through the nesting season. if you dont they and their young WILL return year after year. Hope that helps.

We've had doves nest on our fans also. Put up some inexpensive chicken wire on any spots where a ledge occurs or wait till they start and then install the wire. You will not notice the wire and they will find another place to nest.
I welcome them to my place, are they really that much trouble for you? They're a great nature lesson up close for kids and grandkids.
