I bought tomato plants in March so I could get a headstart on them. I prepared the garden by rototilling cow manure and mushroom compost into the soil. I live in East TX and the soil is very sandy. I planted the tomatoes in April, and 3 of the bushes are growing pretty well, but the other 3 have gotten tall and the leaves are very small. They have some flowers, but something is definately wrong. I also planted radish seeds, and they came up but turned yellow and died. Could the compost be too hot? Any suggestions would be great.

| Was that cow manure fresh or was it composted first? Fresh is way to hot to use, it will burn the plant roots. It must first be 'seasoned' by adding it to your compost pile and let it cook for for a few months. |

The manure was composted (bagged). The garden is new, this is the first time I've planted in this location.
