bermuda grass hay meadow

I have a 20 acre hay meadow that is common bermuda mixed with world giant bermuda. Is there an organic fertilizer that can be used on this size of meadow that is reasonable? If so, where can I get it ? This is on black-
land, and is north of Greenville. Is urea fertilizer considered to be
organic? I heard it was.

I don't have a recommendation for you at the moment for your situation, but urea tends to be fairly water soluable - this is not so good. You don't want your fertilizers/ products mixing in with natural water sources. You might also want to post your question in the Organic farming forum - you might get some hits there too.

I am about an hour west of you. I spray my fields. I think it is faster and less costly. A spray tank on a three point with a broadcast nozzle. covers 40 feet per pass. On a new field I would spray biologicals with black strap molasses in the early spring and fall. Mid April spray A mix of fish and seaweed, compost tea , molasses, yucca extract (spreader/sticker) Spray this mix after every cutting. Your costs should be around $30.00 per acre. I am always trying something different. This year a am going to try a calcium spray the day before my normal spray. Remember- Farmers/Ranchers buy retail and sell wholesale.

I don't know what the product from Tyler Tx is but you need increase organic matter in a big way. Compost is great but long hard process. Second best is to use humates and it are easy to do and not expensive to do. There is a man in FW that was hired to restore LBJ Grass Land State Park. His formula is one ton of humate, small amount of amonium sulfate (this helps free up trace minerals), rock phosphate, naturally mined potassium, DE, and other things if you want (I want lava sand this time if he can do this product).
You question about urea - Howard is not opposed on limited basis (so he has said in past), but it is kinda waste since you don't have the other "stuff in place".
The man in FW is Randy Mosely. He mixes up your formula (varies on soil test) and delievers to you feed dealer. You then use their spreader (with out baffle) to put out humate. Your seize acres will not take long.

We have about 35 acres of hay meadow.
What do you all think of using chicken manure on the meadows?
