| :( i have a problem with ants in the center of my strawberry plants. what do i do to get rid of them without hurting my strawberry plants. Ants eat my strawberries. please help. |

DE or a good dose of cedar will chase most of them off.
Do you know what kind they are?

| Yes, they are the little tiny black ones! Do I use cedar mulch around plants or is there some other cedar I should use. Thanks for reply. |

Yeah, we have a not so delicate term for them down here in Texas.
I'd dust some diatomaceous earth around the strawberries, and mulch with shredded cedar. That is the most effective method I have seen in a case like this. Cinnamon also chases away some ants so you mght sprinkle it around, or black pepper. Just make sure to wash your strawberries well. You might put a little newspaper under the berries so they don't get too moist, also. Experiment and little and you'll find something that works.
