Is there something that a person can do to stop a dog from doing his business on the patio area? A solution I can spray maybe? I have square steps with grass growing in between in my patio area, which is adjacent to a very large "pet" area. But my Jack Russell gets lazy and at times does not want to go all the way "out to the yard" to do his business.

odayin,

The same thing holds true for this post as your "standing water" post. This one of course belongs in the Pet Care forum. Hopefully a mod can come along and move both posts.

It is a bit harsh, but since most dogs sniff out their desired spot, repeated light sprinklings of crushed red pepper will quickly disuade you pet from stopping to take a sniff.

I use this method to deter my she-Boxer from getting too interested in my compost pile. Is just about 100% effective.
