I have several pounds of flavered coffee grounds that make the worst tasting coffee. Would there be any ill effects to adding these grounds to a new compost pile before they are used? Or, should only used coffee grounds make it into the pile?
Thanks |

About a year ago I got some unused coffee grounds from a christmas blend that starbucks couldn't sell because it tasted awful. I put it all around my sweet corn. No bad taste in the corn. Composting should make it even less of a risk.

| Used or unused makes little difference if you are composting them with other varied ingredients. But be careful about adding unused grounds directly to the soil as they are acidic. |
