Hi Everyone,

I'm new here, but not new to gardening as I've been at it for 25 years. I learn something new all the time and feel that it keeps me young. I just found your site tonight and really like it! Hope you all don't mind, but I've been posting answers and then realized I should probably introduce myself.

I garden in Maryland zone 7 and just love to 'talk' gardening. I have a small garden that is just stuffed with plants as I'm a bit of a collector and plants just seem to follow me home! We have 2 dogs, 2 cats and feed the birds and squirrels who visit our garden.

Hey Newt, welcome to the forum. It has been awhile since I've been to Maryland, but I do remember the great food I found there. I'm glad you have found the site, and am looking forward to learning from your experience.

Hi Jrosto,
Thanks for the warm welcome! I've travelled through Texas a couple of times and just loved it! So diverse in climate and habitat. Hope you got to eat crab cakes while in Maryland. It's like a gastronomical rite here!

I haven't been here long. I'm in NW PA. Looking forward to getting to know you. We feed the birds and squirrels in the winter when the bears are asleep. They tear things up when they are around. After losing several birdfeeders and part of our squirrel feeder, we decided to wait till they went to bed.

Hi Fess,
I grew up in the Catskill Mountains in New York and spent several summers in the Poconos as a child. I do remember the bears! Welcome!

:) Good Morning, Sunny here but cool. Fall arrives today but has been here for a month!. So you are familiar with our Winters and bears and such! I grew up in OH but have been here for 37 years. I am hoping to go in the woods to get some moss and leaf mold today. Have a nice day.
