I am moving from Dallas to the Hill Country in August. I have many outdoor potted plants - ficus trees, sego palms, hanging baskets, begoinas, hydrangias, cactus, aloe vera, etc. I know I can't put all these plants in a national moving van, so do I need to rent a Uhaul? With that, I will still be worred about the heat over the six over drive. Any suggestions?

Mikie,

Wow, do you know how to pick a fine time to move plants.

No matter how you move, I doubt your ficus trees are going to love it at all.

I would suggest that you leave late in the cooler evening and travel at night. Your looking at about a 5 hour drive with the U-Haul. Good choice, by the way as that will keep the wind off the plants. Water the plants 24 Hrs before departure and not during travel.
