Everytime we go in our yard we discover we have been bitten by some insect that leaves us with red itching bumps. I thought it was chiggers, but this happens when not in grass. We do not see these insects like we do the mosquitos. My son calls them the "no-see-ems" I don't know what they are or how to keep them off us.

Well, it probably is chiggers anyway, they seem to hop FAR! What we have done is get powdered sulphur, dust it on our shoes, ankles, socks, & depending on where we are going to be, around our waist, too. Pour it in an old sock, tie a knot in the top & powder it on. When we forget to do this, we are covered w/bites!
