| I would do it in the fall and let it rot over winter. I till in about 6 inches of compost, not finished, in the fall and let it finish decaying over winter. By spring, when it is time to plant I can't find anything that resembles the unfinished compost and the garden does great. This year I was able to get about 6 dozen cucs from just two plants. I also got alot of tomatoes. to many for me and the wife to eat so we gave away, to the neighbors, the extras. |

I not sure that you should digging so deep, if I have to dig, I don't go more than 6". Spoke with Howard few months back and he recommends no till.

| Never dig in the garden. There is no reason to do so. In fact, there several reason not to do so. Leave everything on top of the soil. Ken H |
