I have a Sugarberry tree (incorrectly called a Hackberry tree) that has thousands of white mites falling from it and clinging to the under side of the leaves. They appear to be causing a gall to the leaves, and quite a few leaves are starting to fall off of the tree. It almost looks like fall. This is the first year I have seen these mites although I have seen the gall on the leaves before but they have not dropped off of the tree in such large numbers before.

Is the tree in trouble? Can I stop the infestation? Waht are my options?
