I have grown an avacado tree in a jar. I live in Southeast Texas (Houston). Can I put it outside in the summer? What temperature do they grow best in? How much sun light do they like?

I also have an avacado tree that is about 3 years old. I put mine outside on the patio, facing the east in the summer when the temperatures get hot. It does real good. I believe that they like the hot sun. It gets sun until about noon then shade in the afternoon. The only time I bring it in is if there is a bad storm with alot of wind, Then after it is over, back out it goes. It is about 2 feet tall. It does not seem to grow much in the house in winter. I mist the leaves each morning with either rain water or filtered water.
Hope this bit of information helps you.

Hi Kristi,
Great advice from Gar. This site should be helpful as well.
