| I have grown an avacado tree in a jar. I live in Southeast Texas (Houston). Can I put it outside in the summer? What temperature do they grow best in? How much sun light do they like? |

I also have an avacado tree that is about 3 years old. I put mine outside on the patio, facing the east in the summer when the temperatures get hot. It does real good. I believe that they like the hot sun. It gets sun until about noon then shade in the afternoon. The only time I bring it in is if there is a bad storm with alot of wind, Then after it is over, back out it goes. It is about 2 feet tall. It does not seem to grow much in the house in winter. I mist the leaves each morning with either rain water or filtered water.
Hope this bit of information helps you. |

Hi Kristi,
Great advice from Gar. This site should be helpful as well.
