I have a problem with my garden. This is the first year I have been able to plant a garden since moving here from Michigan. Back home I had no problems with my garden and always had a great harvest but since moving here ten years ago haven't been able to have my own space for my garden until recently. I went about preparing my planting area as I always did up north but my harvest this time was very dissapointing especially my broccoli..the only thing my broccoli produced were leaves what did I do wrong...your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I currently live approx 30 SE of San Antonio and obviously didn't realize the climate here needs extra care in the garden...Thanks a bunch

Michelle, I'm not familiar with your soils, but your climate is warmer, for longer I'm sure. You didn't say, but sounds like you grew a spring crop.Try planting some now to mature around Christmas or the first of the year. Cole crops like to mature in cool to cold weather.Of course, lots of real compost worked into the top few inches of your soil, and mulch. I always get a good crop. Oh, I feed with Medina Hasta-Gro.
