rose bushes with no leaves

[color=violet][/color][size=18][/size]I have ten rose bushes and none of them-except for one-do not have any leaves. The one that does is a "cemetary rose" and did so well growing that I bought 4 more and the others have no leaves like the other five "store bought" ones. They occassionally bloom but look ridiculous with no leaves to enhance the beauty. The bushes are a pale lime green color with thorns-the stems/stalks are kinda thin and wirey-WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WTITH THE THINGS! I live in Northeast Texas-kinda hot here! PLEASE HELP ME AND MY POTENTIALLY GORGEOUS FLOWERS! :cry: :( :? :x

Hi DD,
Could be black spot. The 'cemetary' roses are hardier and more resistant. Did your bare roses start out looking like this?

Hey Newt!
I have had the idea that it could be black spot. I have been treating them all summer-every 10 days-with a 3in1 product-when leaves do apper-they look great but cannot get the leaves to stay. I thought it was odd that all of them are in a row and only one does not have the problem. I chose cemetary roses because of the low maintainence aspect but now they are a nuisance. I looked at them closer this afternoon and the stems/stalks have a brown bark-like appearance in some place or all the way down the stem.
They are all approximately 2-4 years old and have been fighting this for a long time. They have not grown much or been very attractive. I really want to get a grasp on the problem before I dig them up and get rid of them.
What do you think?

DD, great link from KHWOZ. Just what I would recommend! Try using those techniques for a year and then decide if you want to keep your roses.
