Lawn Watering Question

???sible to use ICE (as in cubes or blocks) to water my lawn?
I have read that one deep watering is better than several brief watering.
I havent doen the math to figure out how much water i would need to have the equivalent (that which would melt back into the soil)frozen into cubes.
The two things that would seemingly be problems are,
would the ice damage/freeze the grass? 2 Would the ice more or less evaporate out in the hot texas air/sun. Or would it melt and drain into the soil like a time lapse watering system?
If ice damage is a possibility There are ways around that but it is the evaporation question im concerned with. My theory is, i can freeze enough ice on a daily basis i could in effect cut down time watering my lawn and still have it watered. Not to mention i could monitor the volume of water used more strenuosly.
THis is just a thought i had and wondered if it would be feasable. Any info is greatly appreciated.

I just read somewhere else that crabgrass can be killed with ice. Apparently the ice can do damage.

You would lose a lot to evaporation. Soaker hoses seem to lose a lot of water to evaporation, too. Your best watering is supplied by rain. This is obvious due to the fact that rainwater is free of chlorine and all the other junk that is added to our water like flouride. Next best watering is from a sprinkler that delivers large droplets of water. This is because there is less evaporation. Small droplets evaporate faster.

To get along with nature, you need to act like her.

We have more success when we do (the best we can) as nature does.
