Budreaux,
KR Bluestem is commonly found in lawns that are not maintained with irrigation or fertilizers well. I find it mostly in parkways along the street where the lawn gets the least amount of irrigation. Once irrigation is improved and the fertilization program is improved the more desirable turf begins to do better in those areas. The problem is that KR Bluestem creates such a thick carpet that other grasses have a tough time penetrating the infested area. Physically tearing up the KR Bluestem is needed to push it out. You have 5 acres so you have your work cut out for you. |
