Jan 2004 I planted 2 Italian Stone Pines that were about 2-3 feet tall. These had short needles. They look healthy but all of the new growth ( about 8 -12 inches in height) has long needles.
Is this normal? If so does it eventually all change to one length? The needles on the new growth is 2 - 3 times as long as the old growth. :?: |

Hmmm... that's an odd one. Can't honestly say I've seen that. Perhaps it's the result of being in your soil as opposed to where they started out?
If all new growth remains the same, eventually it'll phase out all the original shorter ones. |
